A perfect Sunday

We decided to try out our local pool today and since it's adjacent to the little rescue zoo, we stopped there first. We timed it perfectly since the pool opens at 11 and we arrived at the zoo around 10. It was already getting hot hot HOT, which doesn't seem to bother our kids at all. They loved visiting all of their old friends, especially the goats. We made a quick stop at the playground and then the pool was opening.

I wasn't expecting much- I know the pool was large and probably super-cold, and I really thought there would be huge crowds due to the heat. What a happy suprise it was when there were only a handful of people there. We parked the stroller and grabbed some chairs and headed over to the pool. OMG, the water was perfect!!!! Not only was it clean and sparkling blue, but the temp was heavenly. All 4.5 of us eagerly jumped in and the kids started swimming. I'm really amazed at their progress- they are clearly into the water and swimming.

The next attraction was the "babies pool" as Baz put it. THIS pool was much colder (I'm assuming since they empty it mroe often?), but they didn't mind at all. Baz liked playing with the sprinklers on the side and Anya became "rescue cat" and pretended to rescue everyone. We went back and forth between pools several times before fatigue started setting in....for George and I, that is!

We managed to tear the kids away from the pools and get them dressed and in the car. Within seconds, Baz was down and he stayed down through a lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings. This was so nice since he's such a lunatic at restaurants and runs around like crazy. I know it's only one of a handful of times he's actually slept in the stroller.

After that, we headed over to the mall where his nap continued (yayyyyy!). Of course we visited the Disney store and the projection game. And since I'm indulging any cravings now, we all split a Mint Chip Dazzler at the Haagen Dazs stand- yumm-o!

Bedtime was a challenge as it has been usually- Baz just turns into a little devil and fights us every step. Anya was out in seconds thankfully, but we still got him down by 8, so it wasn't TOO bad. of course, his truck pillow and both fire engines are in time out for the night, but at least he's asleep!

All in all, it was a fun and not TOO exhausting Sunday- go team!!!
